saab 1996 convertible

Top does not fully seat  stops 2" short in closing position and doesn't permit cowl cover to latch properly
2nd problem- cowl cover motor continues to crank & does not stut off while rear window closes

Sounds like maybe foreign object in mechanism. Inspect thoroughly for any. There are MANY moving parts, hinges, pivot points, any one of which, withe the smallest of a loose object on the stow compartment could have gotten on one of them. Again, look all over for something like that

The fact that the motor continues to run is attempting to close fully and is being obstructed

I h ave a 1996 Saab Convertible that recently the gear box light stays on when I start it. If I try to put it into gear it makes a bumping sound. If I shut the engine down, then restart, the light goes out and it works fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Beachgirl66
