how to open front hood of Boxster with dead battery when alarm won't turn off

I am having the same problem and yes I have put a new battery in my key. Help!!

If you had a dead battery your alarm wouldn't sound. You have a failed switch or latch solenoid. Use the emergency pull wire inside the passenger side - front wheel arch. You remove the plastic arch protector and find the cable behind the passenger side headlight. Pull hard (pliers) and it will open the hood.

The battery is dead, the alarm only sounds when you hook up the charger to the red tab in the fuse box and ground to door hinge to activate the hood switch and the key in the door lock will not shut the alarm off as stated in the instructions to do this. Thank you for the info on the wire inside the passenger side front wheel arch.

Also since when hooking up the battery charger as instructed to the red tab in the fuse box and grounding it makes the alarm go off and the key in the door lock does not shut if off .......Will the alarm still sound when I use the cable to open the hood? If so and the key does not shut it off do you have a solution to this alarm problem?

I plugged a 12V charger into the lighter. The interior lights began to blink and within a minute I was able to open the front hood and trunk.
