92 Pontiac firebird 3.1 having issues with it I try to start it all the lights dime and when I crank it it try's to start and it starts battery is new check the alternator and its good

Ground wires. Check them all, starting with the battery.


Then the starter.


Would the ground make it turn off when I come to a stop at the light or just off the freeway the battery gage goes down and up


So checked the starter and some wires were lose I tight them and drove while on the freeway my car turned off and no power was going to it and it started smoking the wires from the battery melted
