Ac clutch
Asked by Mark Jun 08, 2016 at 05:12 PM about the 1994 Pontiac Firebird Base
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Is my Ac clutch supposed to run all time when the Ac is
on max or other setting ? Compresser is working fine but
the clutch only runs for a second or two and cuts off stays
off a couple of seconds comes back on . Not enough time
to run to put cool air in car .

A/c system charge too low to maintain minimum pressure, hookup a manifold set and check the pressures, text book pressures should be 32 low side and 150 high side, but external temperatures will cause this to change, so try to check them in the coolest part of the day.

I have no power to the AC clutch assembly. When I pull power direction the clutch will engage. It seems that maybe the relay got smoke when the EGR valve went. V6 3.1
