97 sunfire 2.4L jerky at around 4000 run while driving. Replaced fuel filter and problem prestist. Apperantly there's a Rev limiter while in park or neutral but this is happening while driving.

see if your distributor cap is okay...sometimes you can see carbon traces...would cause your mis-fire~ as far as a limiter...I believe this is hog-wash~ you can cause your own limiter by screwing with the vacuum advance...but for police or remote control of your engine...no think so~
