can anyone tell me what the problem is, I installed
a new starter , drove it around , then got out of the
car. had the keys in my hands, the car started
making noise, i opened up the hood, smoke was
coming from underneath the starter and i had to
undo the battery then the noise stopped. whats
that about?

Recheck the wiring at the starter,if it is good,you may have a bad new starter.


Look for a pinched or otherwise shorted wire while you are looking around.
