can you convert a 3800 wiring harness to a 350 carb wiring harness

Asked by Jun 24, 2014 at 07:09 PM about the 2000 Pontiac Firebird Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1 Answer

No. The 3800 harness requires input from the MAF and other injector sensors to regulate the ECM; without it the engine will not run. You're really better off making your own harness, and you'll need new gauges also. BUT: If you're thinking of swapping a 350 carb engine into a 3800 engine car, don't do it. It won's pass emissions and it won't make as much HP as you get from the injected 3800.
