will a 1988 Firebird Formula v8, 5.0, litre, tpi engine go into a 2000 base Firebird
It can be done, if you have the money and time, it won't be easy or cheap. My big question is why would you want too put an old TBI OBD1 engine in a newer OBD2 vehicle when the newer engines are more efficient.
Also, if the 2000 is a V6 car it's a major project!! HTH. -Jim
I had a 1988 firebird formula with the 5 liter tbi. It was a great car but the engine was terribly underpowered rated at 175 hp. You would be better off with the 350 tpi. It has more power and torque than the 305. It is also underpowered so may want to do some modifications to it before you install it. Its an excellent small block engine to start with but unfortunately pontiac left us all underwhelmed.
