I am trying to put a thermostat in my 2001 sunfire and it wont work?

I have bought 2 thermostats for my car and my heater still wont work, it over heats. What do i have to do in order for it to work?

if you have put two thermostats in and it hasn't fixed the problem then the thermostat is not what is causing the problem.
