I am trying to put a thermostat in my 2001 sunfire and it wont work?

I have bought 2 thermostats for my car and my heater still wont work, it over heats. What do i have to do in order for it to work?

if you have put two thermostats in and it hasn't fixed the problem then the thermostat is not what is causing the problem.

Sounds like you need to flush your cooling system. Your heat isn't working because the heater core is clogged with rust and deposits. Most likely so is your radiator and the coolant passages in the engine. If the coolant can't circulate properly the engine will overheat. Could also be a worn out water pump not pumping correctly.
