Is there any potential dangers too just rinsing the crap out from under the hood with a hose? I dont want to get water anywhere that can damage the car. Under the hood my car is really messy, I was wondering if I could just grab a hose or buckets of water and hope for the best.

yes you could do that, although you have to cover some cables or plugs, the easiest way to clean your hood get a wet cloth and just wipe it over and over again instead of spraying water -Safe *make sure your car engine is off and cold*
