I have 2001 bonneville and its idling high and does not go down. Whats my issue?

I have a 2001 bonneville and im
idling high. And it just goes
higher and higher. When I start
the car it starts at 2000 and
works its way up and dont go
down so I just cut the car off.
What is the problem

Clean throttle body and ( IAC ) Idle Air Control valve or replace if necessary.

Yes a dirty Idle Air Control valve which can be cleaned sometimes or may have to be replaced.
