my son bought a used 2001 Bonneville SE. it starts up good pretty quiet. But i smell like a burnt oil smell. I see a slight smoke under the manifold. What could this be?
Probably a valve cover leaking oil onto the exhaust manifold. A small inspection mirror might help you locate where it's actually coming from.
thanks so much Dandyoun.. so i shouldnt worry about any gaskets yet than?
I would inspect it to verify that it is a valve cover gasket leaking. Then it would be a good idea to replace the gaskets on the valve covers if they are leaking. Most are not that hard or costly to replace.
