2002 Pontiac Sunfire will not fire.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2L SE and it will not start. The car cranks but will not turn over.

Things I have tried:
Tested battery
Tested Alternator
Replace Coil Packs and module
Tested Plugs  

If anymore info is needed please ask.

Is it getting fuel? Remove the gas cap and have a helper turn the ignition on. Do not crank the engine. Put your ear next to the gas tank fill pipe and you should hear the fuel pump run for about 3 seconds. If not, get a hammer and hit the center of the bottom of the gas tank. Don't beat the tar out of it. Two or three good whacks will do. Then try and start it. If it starts you need a fuel pump. HTH. - Jim
