2004 Pontiac Vibe AC will not work

Asked by Jul 27, 2015 at 05:40 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Vibe GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a manual 2004 Pontiac Vibe and the AC will not work. The fans work perfectly, the fuse is fine. When I push the AC button you can hear the engine engage but no cold air comes out (even after 10+ minutes).

If compressor is not clicking on and off and is study running and the blower motor inside the vehicle is working and still no cold air the orifice tube filter needs to be replaced this filter is inside of the high side line of the A.C system. Best to have a qualified technician to replace filter because the freon has to be removed to replace filter.

Never had any problems before. Turned on AC, blows HOT air as if the heat is on instead of the AC. (No, I do not have the heat on accidentally).
