2005 vibe no ac

Asked by Jul 17, 2015 at 01:40 PM about the 2005 Pontiac Vibe Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ac compressor clutch does not work.  There is 12 volts at the clutch with the AC function switch on but the clutch does not ingage. I tried to measure the resistance  of the clutch coil between the clutch wire and ground but I do not get a reading.  Does any one know if you can measure the coil resistance that way, or what the resistance should be.

Did you check the pressure of the system? I know if the pressure of the refrigerant is not at a certain level, the compressor won't kick on , there is a fail safe....http://www.aa1car.com/library/2004/us50414.htm
