If You can get it to idle at all, Do this while it is idling disconnect the positive battery terminal if the motor quits running right after disconnecting the battery Your Alternator has gone bad. The squeaking was your Alt and steering belts slipping because of the water and the water might have put the final nail in the casket of your Alternator.

Do not disconnect the battery while the car is running!!! You may damage your electronics with a voltage spike.

Check your alternator with a multi-meter. Check at the battery terminals, it should show 13.5 to 14.5 volts with the car running.
