hlmotor swap/upgrade/liftkit and mud tires
Hi guys im new to this site and have had many Ford rangers in the last 25
years but this is my first ranger with a 4.0 liter /v-6,4×4 extended cab 1996 4
speed manual combination. I got the truck in WA.state for $900.00 and rebuilt
the front axles, new clutch kit, fuel pump, brakes coil pack, plugs, plug wires
filters, radiator and changed "ALL" of the fluids and driveline/ all u joints and
bearings. Anyway now my motor all of the sudden just quite running almost
like it has jumped time ( I think ). Wich is understandable considering it has
over "300,000 miles on it. So I was thinking that it might be easier and many
cheaper to replace the motor with a newer rebuilt motor or to upgrade to a
small block v-8. But if I was to put a v-8 in it what all would I have to change.
Also if I stuck with the v-6 would it be a larg enough to run some 35" mud tires
on it .
I know I'm asking a lot but any and all kinds information would be greatly
appreciated and valued thanks.
