Can I drive my 94 bravada with no front driveline

Asked by Jul 17, 2017 at 06:35 AM about the 1994 Oldsmobile Bravada 4 Dr STD AWD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 94 bravada AND the front driveline
is missing.  I got it like this unaware of the
fact. Well the car has to be driven in second
gear to get any type of speed to just drive
around town. All other gears work, including
reverse but I can not drive my car in "Drive"
because it does not pick up enough speed.
Even in 2nd gear I'm only able to go 35 MPH
max. The car sometimes shifts gears just
fines and others the RPMs eun high while
the car does not want to shift into a higher
gear. My check engine light just recently
started turning on and off at times, and car
seems to be running hot from under floor
board. I dont know if this is related or just a
new issue. Im wondering if my transmission
is going out causing the loss of power or is
it something to do with the missing
driveline? Another thought is, is my catalytic
converter maybe going out and could this be
causing the loss of power, and or heat I'm
feeling? But as I said it won't go past 35
MPH and it doesn't seem the gears are
slipping, it just will not shift into a higher
gear and drive at a normal speed.  Please
help. Thanks.
