Does anybody know if I brought a used ecu and it's from
the same year make and model can I swap it out

All you can do is try it. Worst come to worst, it would need to be flashed to your vehicles vin number. And that is expensive. I believe there are numbers on the ECU, and if they match yours, then you wouldn't need to have it flashed.
