Where is the water going?

Asked by Linda Marie Dec 06, 2013 at 11:02 AM about the 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora 4 Dr STD Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently had the water pump changed, but the water is still disappearing and it isn't on the ground. Thought possible air bubble replaced the water and it is gone again.

The local auto parts will loan you a pressure test kit. This will help you locate the leak. If the air was not all gotten out of the cooling system when the water pump was replaced that could be what you are dealing with. Try opening the radiator cap and with your heater on max heat crank car up and let it idle for a while. As water goes down in radiator add more. This should get all the air out of the system.
