why ABS light comes on

There is a fault in the ABS braking system. Either a wheel sensor or the ABS module itself or wiring . A local garage can scan for the ABS codes to tell them what is exactly the issue and repair. BTW: If the light is on, your brakes will work, but you won't have the benefit of ABS working when you need it.
