what causes 2000 olds alero to only run on 2 cylinders

Are you sure it's only running on 2 cylinders? Normally it wouldn't run at all if only 2 cylinders were firing. Run a compression test. All cylinders should test 150 PSI or higher. Actually 150 PSI is kinda weak. 180ish is better. Is your check engine or service engine soon light on/ flashing? If so, have the computer scanned and post the codes here. Many auto parts stores, such as Advance or Autozone, will do it for free. HTH. -Jim
