Have you checked the battery? Sounds like the battery has died from sitting so long.

if you couldnt figure out this was the battery right away, please step away from the vehicle

I actually have a very similar issue to this, but I had the water pump go out a couple years ago. Was in a tough spot and had very little mechanic experience. However learned alot since then. To the issue though. I've got the timing belt replaced, new water pump, new battery and post connectors. Also cap rotor and plugs, wires, and fuel filter. When cranked over you get a fraction of a stutter once after that it cranks over virtually silent besides the starter sound and the belts turning. Does anyone have any clue what the issue is and or could be. Had a mechanic friend help look over it and double check the timing and even he is awfully stumped.

Hi there. I had a problem with no start, no crank and I searched the 'net and found that the fuel injectors go bad and can leak into cylinders and "hydro lock" the engine. The fuel sits in there and causes a block to keep them from moving. My dipstick was a pale fluid and smelled like fuel. The fuel regulator can also malfunction, maybe retarding or letting roo much fuel too. Those injectors are FAMOUS for this problem. You may be able to recondition them yourself with new seals, but i chose to replace all AND the regulator. The car is still being worked on at the moment or I'd give a result. Just make sure you get the RIGHT COLOR for the vehicle. Mine are a kind of a tan color, but I had gotten the wrong ones at first. GOOD LUCK!

Also, we had to pull the plugs and turn the engine over and watch those fuel fountains go! Just cover the engine with a throw away towel and there's less fire risk.
