When was the last time u changed the fuel filter? It could also be a bad coil, coil pack or a bad distributor. Start with the fuel filter change that and see if it makes a differance to me it sounds like it may be clogged i would also recomend that u do a full tune up on it that way the next time ur tune up comes around u know it is time to change the fuel filter. I dont recomend using dry gas it is just a waste of money all it is is diluted rubbing alcohol do what i said and let us know how u make out bud

i took the fuel filter off and put a tractor transparent fuel filter on it and i disassembled the distributor and everything was spotless under the cap and it doesn't have coil packs and it looks like everything on the throttle body has been replaced and im not 100% sure its tuned right with air/fuel because like i said it idles unbelievably great

It does sound fuel related, test the pressure and rate of flow, I'm not sure but if the pressures are where they should be that tractor filter won't handle it, you also may want to check the flash out codes on the computer, could be an air flow sensor.

It sounds like a fuel delivery problem or a spark issue alot of times with those jap made cars they a pip aka pick up coil on the inside of the dist if that goes bad one of two things will happen A) the car or truck wont run. And B) the car or truck will run great at idle, however when put under a load will spit sputter and back fire. How old is the gas?

If the pip mod is bad you should be able to pick one up at ur local autozone or napa if it is too expensive i suggest u go to ur local salvage yard and buy the whole dist because a lot of used auto part places wont sell just the pip mod out of the dist because with out that the dist is no good

The tank was pretty much empty when I got it but I put 7$ in it and the fuel pump is very very loud

Pump should not be very noisy, could be bad or just worn out sound insulators. Get the pressure and flow checked, that will tell you for sure.I assume it is a 2.4 engine so the pressure should be 33 lbs minimum. That is why my concern for the filter you put on.

OK so u r concerned obout the filter ??

Get the filter that is for ur truck never down size filters tennis is right though u should not hear the pump check psi and check pump flow
