How do I stop the security alarm after connecting jump cables?

Asked by Jun 12, 2013 at 08:59 PM about the 1996 Nissan Maxima GLE

Question type: General

96' Nissan Maxima is dead from sitting for awhile.  Battery is good.  When connecting jumper cables to it, the security alarm goes off!  When you disconnect them, it stops. Mind you, can't just put the key in and start it, cuz it needs to charge for a little while. How do I stop this!?

there should be a fuse for the alarm, if it's factory you should be able to find some info in the manual if not you'll need to find the fuse for this one.

When the alarm i active try locking and unlocking the drivers door with the key. If that don't work then try the passenger door. My Acura did the same thing and it was the passenger door to deactivate.
