can I mate a modern chevy v6 to a gm turbo 350 transmission?

Asked by David May 07, 2020 at 04:04 PM about the 1973 Jaguar XJ-Series XJ12 Sedan RWD

Question type: Car Customization

I have a modified 73 XJ12 Jaguar with a 359 chevy crate engine and the
stock transmission.
What I want to do is ideally replace the motor with a chevy 3.6L v6 from a
2012 camaro. I am planning to order a complete engine and would like to
keep the transmission that it has. Is it possible or do I need adapter or a
whole new transimission?
Otherwise I may have the motor rebuilt and just upgrade it from there with efi
and what not
