Windshield Hairline Crack

I have had my 2020 Outback Limited for 3 weeks. A hairline
cracked appeared below the windshield wiper when I
turned on the defroster when the temps were below 23
degrees . It took a matter of of 3 hours for the crack to
travel up the center of the windshield and do a switchback
towards the driver's side.  The dealer was really pushing the
extended warranty. They focused heavily on "in case the
windshield breaks".... I thought to myself, well that's why I
have insurance. I think the dealerships know what is
happening here  with the windshield matter.  Sadly my
deductible is $750.  I have had Ford trucks for decades, I
decided to step out of the box and do something different. I
so love this Subaru and enjoy everything about it, but if this
windshield thing is an ongoing issue as it seems for many
people in this forum, I probably am going to regret my
decision.
