1999 Frontier 2.4L alternator replacement. How difficult and which is best repair manual?

That's strange, 3 months, is it laboring from corroded connections? if not its easy to do, a Haynes manual will tell that much from parts store.

The real problem is the "can't afford" part- man, cars are expensive- this is a luxury, not a constitutional right-
Sounds like you've got a live wire that is grounding out an causing the alternator to burn up. Look around the pedals for loose wires and make sure the ground on the alternator was put back on the small bolt on the back of the alternator
Hose leaking and shorting it out more than likely. Look for leaks into alternator. Nissan trucks are notorious for this b/c the alt. Sits below lots of hoses
