I have a 2000 Nissan maxima that cut off while driving the thermostat works fine but car still cut off after about 20min of driving

Check your ignition switch. Had this same thing happen in my Pontiac, I replaced it and worked fine after.

Thanks turns out that the fuel pump went bad
