I have a 1997 Ford Taurus, that is leaking on the coolant tank when is hot.. How do I fix that ?
Car does not show heating up on the panel, but after running it a white, it starts to leak
boiling water through the top of the coolant tank.
Start with a new radiator cap, with pressure rated to spec for your car. It should be on the old one. And make sure the overflow tank is not overfull, it has markings on it but should be only about 1/4 full cold
http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/shop_parts/radiator_cap/ford/taurus.html says 16 psi cap BUT also found some threads that say the 1997 Taurus does not have a cap, sealed, but then again caps are listed watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MLtJD1wYDE
