Replaced thermastat and still overheating. What else?

In the past 2 years have had head gaskets, radiator, thermastat replaced 2 times, Just picked it up from the shop and today it overheated with needle going to H
My mechanic could not find anything wrong.
What else can be causing this overheating?

have you checked the water pump? thats a possibility

My quest would be that either your Water pump , electric fan or clutch is not on or not working...correctly

If the head gasket was blown and he didn't resurface the head, It could very easily still be leaking from the head. Thereby causing the same overheating, etc... I would also check waterpump and fans too. Even check for presence of air in the cooling system. air pockets will cause cavitation and a waterpump will not pull water at all ( or maybe sporadically) if an air pocket gets down to it.

Believe it or not I was having the same problem it was low on transmission fuild

Absolutely fire the mechanic, he should never have let you have the car back if it was still overheating after replacing the head gasket the first time.....un-f@#&ing believable that he is still in business. Now, did you get it fixed yet and what was wrong with it? Thanks KM

I'm rocking my brains off trying to figure out what's wrong with my Nissan Xterra. I just install the thermostat and, after we reloaded again with antifreeze, I drove for about three (3) miles and it was hot again.
