i bought a used car. this is my first car. 2002 nissan maxima A33. it makes
a weird noise over bumps from front right wheel. like somethings lose or
*GRUMP GRUMP*. Previous owner said that he replaced new shocks in it,
also i want to ask that can i install shocks from other vehicle, which are
bigger and stronger, for quiter and smoother ride.
Thanx in advance.
It is either your struts or an engine mount that would cause this particular type of noise
The noise you hear may also be a bad strut mount. A lot of times when people replace struts, they overlook the mounts which may also be bad. You cannot put struts from another car in unless they are the same struts for both cars, but you can buy more expensive aftermarket struts that will give you a better ride quality. For some cars, you can even buy adjustable struts called coilovers that allow you to set the comfort of the struts to your look liking.
