I had my mechanic recheck the valve cover
that he put on and the oil isn't coming from
it but there is oil on the driver side top of my
motor and after I drive it an hour or so and
check the oil it is a half quart low. Any
answers as to where it could be coming
Is it a 6 cylinder, if so possible the other cover is leaking..
look at the distributor gasket...my Altima had a leak there and the distributor would have caused engine destruction, if I'd not spotted it~
Well you had your mechanic look at it, what did he tell you? That much oil loss should be easy to locate. What about the exhaust? Are you keeping the mosquitoes as you go down the road? Ton of blue smoke maybe?
This model is notorious for head gasket issues. Do a compression test.
No 4 cyclinder. He said it could be using the oil and no it's not smoking or leaking on the ground. Have y'all heard of blue devil oil stop leak? Think this would help?
At the fast of a consumption I know it's the head gasket. Subarus don't necessarily smoke in the early stages. Do a compression test and you will see. Blue devil oil stop leak works well on oil leaks, and the blue devil head gasket works temporarily on the head gaskets for a few months at most but there is quite a bit of labor involved with it between flushing the radiator and taking out the thermostat.
