Is the new alternator showing the correct voltages? Not too high or SLIGHTLY too low? Follow the wire from the alternator to the battery, or use panel if you can and look for a break in the wire. Ive had this happen twice, one was a bad wire, I imagine was damaged when they replaced the alternator, one was a bad replacement alternator. I believe it also runs a wire to the dash itself that can go bad, wiring issues suck, if the battery is charging and checks out, honestly I'd cover the light with some electrical tape or ignore it.

..also have the battery tested, if the alternator was bad it may have taken the battery with it.

my nissan altima 2005 brake light and battery light turned on after not used for a few weeks. the mechanic replaced alternator. now the battery is charging at 14V. the problem is when the car was started from cold, the battery light and brake light would stay on for around 1 minutes or so, then both turned off. not sure what's the problem.

I have 2003 altima, my BRAKE & BATTERY lights came on together. I checked alternator, it wasn't that, I changed my belt tensioner and serpentine belt but it wasn't that. I then opened FUSE box next to battery, and checked all fuses. I notice 10 amp fuse labeled 10A-ALT S blown out. I turned off car and changed fuse, PROBLEM fixed. Lights turned off. NOTE: I'm glad I changed belt tensioner cause now my car it's not making GRINDING noise.
