Car has been sitting for 3 months with no gas and a dead battery.

Asked by Nov 12, 2013 at 12:29 PM about the 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5 S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car now turns over, but it will not accelerate past 2500 rpm in park or drive and runs
rougher (vibration) as it approaches that limit. Initial thought was fuel pump/fuel filter
issues... Could it be the transmission? There were no signs of transmission issues upon
parking the vehicle. Ohhh and check engine light is on.

Chances are very high that the fuel pump is the problem, but have the codes checked first as they might confirm a lean condition.

Try your basic tune up...plugs wires, all the goodies.
