Sales Price Ratings: Fair etc.

Asked by Thoreaumom Jun 04, 2021 at 11:52 AM about the 2005 Nissan 350Z Touring

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

The car I am selling has both keys, new tires, (after market) auto car starter and
4 additional winter tires. This isn't factored at all in the rating of "fair" . How can I
get my rating improved because I am including more? How come the listing
price rating "Fair" does not take into account the extra's I am offering or the
newer parts?

The IMV is calculated based on price, location, year make and model and doesn't take into consideration the things that you listed. Add the extras to the listing in the description. Hopefully people look beyond the deal rating, which isn't an absolute.

Also some buyers will consider the extra set of tires a minus. Many people won't have a place to store them or want them laying around. The auto start, if not factory, is definitely a minus to anyone who's had one. These are often installed by a kid at a stereo place who knows nothing about what they're doing. But be sure to list your extras in the beginning of the description so everyone will see them. Not everyone thinks like me! Hope that helps! Jim

New tires and 2 keys are not value enhancers. They certainly don't hurt but they are pretty much expected. Worn tires would obviously be a turn off.
