cranking car and going forward

To crank car we have to push gas
and hold it to floor when it cranks
let off gas if u push gas to go
forward it shuts off if u put it in
gear and let it start to go with out
pushing gas it will go then u can
push gas .what would cause this

Fuel issue for sure. The fuel system if pressurized or primed when you turn the key to the on position, then your able to start. So either the fuel filter is clogged, you have a faulty fuel pressure regulator, or leaky injector. Start with replacing the fuel filter and clean the throttle body and Idle control valve of carbon to eliminate the simple things and go from there. You can also have a weak fuel pump, but not likely. hAve a mechanic check it out if your not comfortable working on your own vehicle. Cleaning the throttle body is easy, just get the right cleaner from your auto parts store. Check youtube on how to do it correctly.
