2019 Ford Expedition Steering Problem
We have a 2019 Fried Expedition with the heavy duty towing package. When
we make a left turn onto a straight road it keeps pulling left until we make a
right turn which then cancels the left turn and then it drives straight. This
condition is worse when towing our 6000 lb. trailer but still noticeable when
towing nothing. This does not happen on right turns, only left. Ford has
spend days testing and checking everything (mechanical and electrical) and
cannot find the cause. I fear it is a design problem. In any case it is very
unsafe. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Also we hitched our trailer
to another new (4 miles on the odometer) Expedition identically equipped as
ours with the same results leading us to believe it is a system wide problem.
Interesting. Do you use a weight distributing hitch?
Yes. The problem exists with or without load transfer bars. The problem is worse with the load transfer bars installed.
Document everything in case you need to go the Lemon Law route.
This may sound a little crazy...but, try it. Turn the Trailer Sway control . My son's 2013 F-series with electric steering and heavy duty trailer tow does the same thing. You have to turn it off every time you restart the vehicle. The difference is night and day.
The above answer should say Turn the Trailer Sway Control OFF. I put it in brackets and it was edited.
