My 2002 did this occasionally. For mine it was just a pinched wire.

Probably the drivers side, right? If it is there is a good chance the regulator (motor) has had it. When you push the up button, does it try to go up at all? Does it go up (motor kick in) if you grasp it and pull upward while pushing the switch?

When I push the button up, nothing responds. When the button is pushed down, you can hear the motor kick in. I appreciate the responses.

Sounds like the motor is worn out. It has enough power to pull the window down but not enough to make it go up. Pull the door apart and replace the motor. The driver's side window gets the most use, probably ten times more than all the other windows. A replacement power window motor(rockauto.com) will solve your problem. Good Luck, Kenny / MrBlueOval
