why is oil getting into water system

oil in water system but no water in oil system

If it is engine oil then a Blown head gasket is the most common thing when you have oil in the coolant. If it is transmission fluid then there is a leak in the radiators built in tranny cooler.

could also be an "oil filter adapter gasket "...a water port is a part of that gasket right next to an oil port which is under pressure , pushing oil into the water port but not water into oil
