Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was on this site before I got it 1999 Mitsubishi
Eclipse 2.0 revved it up to about 6800 rpm in first
and second gear now the motor shimmiesI thought
I threw a rod or bent a piston but it still runs and
runs well when I get to about 2500 rpm and there's
a hole underneath a dipstick that squirting out oil
not sure what it is and any mechanic I speak to in
the area doesn't know either they are just telling
me to do an engine swap, I think that's pretty harsh

well you have to determine what hole the oil is coming out of first. If it is a drain plug, then it might need a new gasket. If it is a hole due to damage, you might need a new part, maybe not a new engine. Have another mechanic look it over for you.
