How to keep car running. Starts then dies after only a few seconds.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced camshaft and crank sensors.  Not sure what else to do.  Timing belt is fine.  All new engine.

If you feather the gas pedal will it stay running? If so I would check for dirty/faulty idle air control valve or dirty throttle plate.

I have tried feathering the gas pedal, still turns off. I did notice that when I unplugged the camshaft sensor it still does the same thing. I thought the engine was not suppose to turn over at all. Checked to see if it was magnetic. It was not. Still starts, then shuts off after 2 seconds. Any other suggestions?

Check the fuel- tank filter -if it has been run on low-fuel, tank residue may be clogging fuel filter causing it to sputter out. Pain in the neck process but inexpensive fix. Drop and flush the tank, replace the filter?
