Why does the RPMs rev up when I turn on the heater.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The RPMs will stay at about 2000 while the heater is on. It does not matter if the car is warm already or not. The minute the heater is turned off the RPMs will go back down to about 800 to a 1000. Please help

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak in the climate control system. HTH. -Jim
