My brake light and battery light are on when I start the car and stay on for about 10 miles after that. They eventually go out. Does this mean the alternator is going bad?

Could be that or your brake fluid need attention, a lot of Asian units combine the 2 light system to get your attention but you don't know what one is sending the signal it is until you get into it.
