I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gt 5 Speed and i lost the original key with the chip in it. Can i just change the ignition lock? What about the factory alarm system?
I'd try getting a replacement from your local Mitsubishi Dealer. Some manufacturers keep keep key code information on file for 15 model years. You'll still probably have to get the new key programmed to the vehicle but it'll save the cost of replacing the ignition and other locks. HTH. -Jim
so i just have to get my vin number and go to the dealership and they can make me a key that will go to my car? Do i need to have the car there at the dealership or can they just make me one?
I just sent you a PM. HTH. -Jim
