Car wants to start but doesn't! Shows Camshaft + Crankshaft Codes

Asked by May 16, 2017 at 06:12 PM about the 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey guys so I recently got codes for a Camshaft Sensor & a Crankshaft
Sensor, but the car doesn't start even with new sensors! It's so F*cking close
to starting.

I imagine it is a wiring harness issue somewhere. When I got the car my friend
had to use his harness with the one in the car using connectors and shit. I
imagine this wasn't a good idea, considering his is an 04, mine is an 02 and a
v4, not a v6.

Anyone ever have this problem before? Why would it still be showing these
sensors if I JUST put new ones in? Could it be a short or messed up wiring?
Last time I checked, all the relays and fuses were good.

Thanks

Just because you get a code that points to a sensor doesn't mean a new sensor will fix the problem. There are other causes for these issues. Take it to a qualified mechanic for evaluation.
