I have my 2003 Eclipse GT in the shop right now. I am getting a tune up and oil change and was quoted 650.00, well now they say that the valve cover gaskets/seals need to be replaced and that the cost will go up to almost a 1,000.00. I'm I getting rips off? Help...I really think this is too much to pay for a tune up, Am I wrong....

Yes, you are getting ripped off. I would find out EXACTLY what this "tune up" consists of. Plugs, wires, air filter, and oil should not come to $650. If you are at the dealer, this may be the price. They do charge like $95 an hour. If you are at a no name garage, find out the hourly rate, and ask for an itemized list.

that's incredibly wayyyyy to high can get a timing belt water pump and oil pump done for that or less lol look else where,,, their straight up taking you for a ride,, next shop you go to take a man with you,, and I don't mean to sound sexist by saying that but the proven fact is that shops will tend to try to rip off a woman but not the man so much
