Will anyone tell me what this is!?!?!?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Will anyone tell me what this is on my battery!? Just
purchased this car a week ago and cannot figure
out what this thing is on the battery. Never seen it in
my life and nobody i know has seen such a thing
like it either. Purchased from a used car lot and the
only thing i can think that it would be would be a
tracker of some sort or something that is used to fix
a wiring problem with the car.

It is a main fuse and it is even marked as alternator, ALT however they have used the wrong type of terminal end, but as long as it isn't giving you any problems leave it alone until,it goes bad then replace it with the correct terminal end. HTH

That looks just like my positive connector on my 2015 Subaru.

@tennisshoes makes a lot of sense since the other day my battery died while i was at school but havnt had anyproblems since i replaced that but it could be an alternator problem.

From what I can see from the pic it looks like the main fuse is intact, measure the voltage at the battery terminals when the engine is off and then with it running, it should be around 14.2 to 14.8 volts. If your not getting that then you could have an alternator problem or the computer is not turning the system on.

I had the first battery tested and it was poor. They tightened the connectivity and it tested good. I went to school and the battery died. I got a new battery and its worked great but only been a few days. If i expierience the same problems i guess its time for a new alternator

Possibly but like I stated make sure the computer is turning it on first.
