Lights in car not functioning.

Asked by Nov 12, 2016 at 09:35 PM about the 2005 Mitsubishi Galant ES

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently after replacing my radio in the car, a few lights in and out of the car went out. The temperature gauge lights (besides the buttons), the shifter lights, and my passenger side tail light all have gone out. I have not tried messing with the interior lights, but I have replaced the fuse for the tail light and the fuse only blows when I turn the lights on. Any idea as to what it could be?

Doesn't sound like you disconnected the battery during the radio install. If not you will sometimes get blown fuses, which you found. I can see the interior light and dash functions being effected but not sure why the tail light fuse blows, I would remove the radio again and recheck all your wiring. Don't forget to disconnect the vehicle batteries negative cable.
