What could be wrong with my dash lights
and tail lights on my mercury mountaineer?
Im 500 miles away from home and need to
travel tonight

Go through all your fuses. That's the quickest and simplest place to start looking. Parts stores carry fuses and a little test kit to check them without having to actually remove them.
